Itamar Engelsman started photography at an early age with a camera which he received as a gift from his uncle. He developed his photographic skills from that moment on and in March 1990 he attained a degree from the New York Institute of Photography. Following his degree he was asked by friends to take photos at their simchas and he continued to develop his unique unobtrusive and relaxed style into a truly professional service. “We were so nervous but the moment you arrived and took charge we immediately calmed down” was a reaction of one of his most recent clients. Itamar also learned how to handle people at an early age through extensive youth- and student work and most clients compliment him on the friendly and kind way he handles his subjects.

 

 

 

While Itamar will of course take the necessary formal images, his strength is the photojournalistic way of recording your simcha for life. “It is all about the actions, emotions and candid moments which need to be captured”, he says. He approaches your simcha with the goal of photographing key defining moments of your day capturing little details as well as the usual images in his unique style. He creates a relation with his clients which results in becoming their personal photographer through the years as their family grows and changes.

Simcha Photography is photographing weddings (chatunah), barmitzvah and batmitzvah  parties and portrait sessions in the wider London (United Kingdom) area. Other locations can however be discussed too.
